PREFECTS BODY & STUDENT COUNCIL
The prefects are nominated from classes VI – X by the teachers, they are then interviewed by the Principal who is the head of the PBM.A Head Boy and Head Girl is also selected from these prefects. The prefects are selected on the basis of their curricular, co-curricular activities and also life skills that they have.
Aims of the prefect body
It is an avenue to develop leadership skills.
Provide students opportunity to shoulder responsibility.
To interact with groups of students to bring about discipline.
To be an example as a leader for others to look up to.
To build up the confidence level of students.
A role player as a public face and understand the responsibilities of being a public figure.
To develop the communication skills of students .
To act as a link between the student Body/Teachers and the Principal.
Most important to be an example and to create footprints of a marked performer which others would follow in the future.
ROLES OF HEAD BOY /HEAD GIRL
•Meet with The Principal once per week to discuss school issues as they pertain to the student body’s governance.
•Work with the Principal to plan school-wide events.
•Meet with The Principal weekly to establish healthy, working relationships.
•Work with the other prefects and class monitors to continually improve student governance.
•Collaborate with the Class monitors to develop activities, events and leadership opportunities for the student body.
•Promote further student leadership within the school.
•Be available for events such as Open House, Grand Events like Independence day and Republic day, Sports Day and Annual Day and any other school activity that requires leadership of students.
